- The local authority increased Abid’s social care hours from 20 hours per week to 137 hours per week
- The local authority allocated £111,599 in funds towards Abid’s social care package
Funding before
- Oliver suffers from involuntary contractures and muscle weaknesses
- Oliver had 13 hours per week to access community facilities
- The local authority assessed Oliver as only needing 1-1 PA support when accessing the community
Funding after
- Oliver now receives 26 hours per week to access the community – doubled!
- He now receives a ratio of 2-1 PA support when in the community (doubled!)
- He now receives 1,352 hours of social care funding to access the community for the year
- Now receives over £19,000 of funding from the local authority to access the community
Following a request for extra social care funding from the local authority, Tom now receives:
- Support ratio 2-1 change from 1-1
- 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday) personal care and transfers at 2-1 – increase in Tom’s funding
- 16 hours per week of weekend personal care at 2-1 – increase in Tom’s funding
- 9 hours per night sleep-in once per week at 1-1 – a new allocation for Tom
